How about more benefits for student travel insurance?
Travel Insured International, effective Sept. 15, 2008, has introduced stronger benefits for our Student Group Comprehensive, Basic and Post-Departure plans, including the new option to purchase Cancel for Any Reason protection with Basic or Comprehensive. Additionally, new low premium rates now apply whether a Student Group plan is voluntary – meaning an option for each group member – or inclusive, with the premium built into the cost of the overall package and taken by all group members.
Increased Student Group benefit limits include the following:
Trip Delay increases on all three plan types to $750 per student ($150 per day). up from $500 or $600.
Emergency Accident & Sickness Medical Expense is now $25,000 on Student Comprehensive or Post-Departure plans, up from $10,000.
Emergency Evacuation & Repatriation is now $100,000 on all three plans, an increase from $25,000!
Lost Baggage & Personal Effects is now $1,500 ($250 per article) on Student Comprehensive or Post-Departure plans, up from $500.
Cancel for Any Reason is a new option in Student Basic or Comprehensive Plans, and can be selected by individual students or the entire group (but not available in NY or WA) provided the plan is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit.
Low net rates for a Student Group Basic Plan start at $7 per student for a trip costing up to $200, and range up to $82 per student for a trip cost of $4,501 to $5,000. Net rates for a Student Group Comprehensive Plan start at $9 per student for a trip costing up to $200, and range up to $98 per student for a trip cost of $4,501 to $5,000. Net rates for a Student Group Post-Departure Plan start at $4 per student for a trip length of 0 to 5 days and range up to $18 per student for a trip length of 21 to 30 days. Cancel for Any Reason options in Basic or Comprehensive Plans increase the above base rate amount by an additional 50%
We have student travel groups even from the smaller schools in our area. They often like to visit our nation’s capitol and take trips to historical areas. We always support their fundraising efforts also. Student Travel Insurance is another necessary expense and they just need to wash a few more cars to pay for this coverage….just like my child had to do. The only problem was…I was washing the cars too!
